Abstract
The half-lives of the platinum isotopes 189,191,197Pt and of the 4-day isomer in $^{195{\rm {m}}}$Pt have been measured with high precision using the photoactivation technique. The $\gamma$-ray activity was counted over several half-lives with a high-purity germanium detector. The measured half-lives are: $T_{1/2}(^{189}{\rm {Pt}}) = 12.1 \pm 1.5$h; $T_{1/2}(^{191}{\rm {Pt}}) = 2.862 \pm 0.007$d; $T_{1/2}(^{197}{\rm {Pt}}) = 19.96 \pm 0.05$h; $T_{1/2}(^{195{\rm {m}}}{\rm {Pt}}) = 4.0104 \pm 0.0047$d.
