The relativistic mean field theory is applied to study the macroscopic properties of the neutron star. We investigate the effects of the -cut scheme when hyperons are included. In particular, we are interested in the question whether we can use the -cut scheme to solve the so-called “hyperon puzzle”. Through careful choice of the parameter of the -cut scheme, we are able to produce a maximum mass neutron star heavier than 2.01 . The role of the – interaction, which modifies the density dependence of the symmetry energy, is also investigated. We find that the anomalous magnetic moments cause neutral fermions to be spin-polarized within this framework.
