In this work, we study the properties of heavy-light mesons as well as dimeson molecular states including their mass spectra, decay widths and branching fractions. Considering the interaction potential between meson constituents as the Yukawa plus spin–spin contributions and using the Salpeter equation we first compute the meson masses. In the following, within the Isgur–Wise function formalism which works well in the heavy quark limit their semileptonic decay widths and branching fractions are determined and compared with experimental data. In next step, in the framework of molecular models with a meson exchange, we study the dimeson molecular states applying the Salpeter equation in the presence of Cornell potential and compute their masses and decay widths, analytically. Results will be compared with available experimental data and the ones extracted through other approaches.
