Universal decay law (UDL) with screening amendments for α-decay [Eur Phys J A (2021) 57:41] is further modified by inclusion of asymmetry and angular momentum effects. The predicted half-lives for α-decay are found with excellent match with the experimental data with lower root mean square error (RMSE) calculated by the modified version of the formula for a wide range of nuclei involving all even(odd)–odd(even) combinations. This modified version of UDL, which is embedded by electrostatic interaction as screening effect, asymmetry of nucleus as well as angular momentum taken away by the α-decay, is utilized to estimate half-lives of α-decay for other regions of periodic chart.
