The effects of different nuclear thermometers on studying symmetry energy are presented in sub-saturated density using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. Nuclear temperatures are found to depend on the symmetry energy. However, using different nuclear thermometers the symmetry energy dependence of the nuclear temperatures varies. Using the thermometer based on kinetic energy properties, the nuclear temperatures are higher for soft symmetry energy. The symmetry energy dependence is opposite for the isotope ratio thermometer.
